Strengthening safety measures for the daily lives of people
MOPAS formulates policies to safeguard the people from various types of accidents and disastrous events.
Central Safety Management Committee has been established under the Ministry to assume pangovernment living safety management.
CCTVs have been installed in school zones and playgrounds to protect our children from potential crimes.
Our Ministry has developed the “SOS Public Relief Service”, utilizing mobile devices such as smartphones to report accidents and crimes to the police. This service is currently on a pilot program and planned for nationwide implementation to protect vulnerable groups, in particular women and children.
In order to promote safety for pedestrians, MOPAS enacts and revises laws to create more pedestrian-friendly roads.
Ensuring prompt and efficient response to disasters and emergencies
The Central Disaster Safety Headquarters of MOPAS coordinates with other government agencies on affairs related to natural, social, and human disasters.
24-hour information sharing system on disasters is in operation to promptly respond to emergency situations.
Our Ministry conducts an annual training exercise for national emergencies in collaboration with the military and private sector.
Taking stronger measures against cyber threats
The central-local level monitoring and public-private response systems for cyber attacks to strengthen information protection of national critical infrastructure.
Our Ministry has enacted the Information Protection Act to closely monitor activities related to personal information leakage.
