Supporting the "Four Major Rivers Restoration Project"
  • We are engaged in the core national "Four Major Rivers (Han, Nakdong, Geum and Yeongsan) Restoration Project, which aims at creating environmentallyfriendly recreation spaces, as well as preventing of natural disaster and water shortage.
  • In collaboration with other ministries, MOPAS supports the river restoration project in conjunction with the bicycle path network initiative.
Developing new models for green growth
  • MOPAS promotes sustainable development of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zones) as a symbol of ecological and environmental conservation.
    *For the past 60 years, DMZ has been a symbol of biodiversity, ecological conservation, and world peace on the Korean Peninsula.
  • To achieve this, MOPAS formulates policies on the use of DMZ in tandem with low carbon, green growth initiatives.

Pursuing paperless green government
  • MOPAS handles the entire civil petition process online, including submission, processing, and notification of result, contributing to reducing unnecessary costs.
  • The Ministry is realizing the goal of 'paperless' administration with online services for civil affairs and entice for tax payments.
  • We also facilitate the digitalization of the knowledge information resources of public institutions.
Reducing carbon emissions and increasing efficiency
  • MOPAS pursues green public administration by building a carbon emissions management system and further enhancing e-document management.
  • Through citizen engagement, we promote services to the creation of Ubiquitous Cities, thus improving the quality of life through green living.
    *Ubiquitous City: A city or region with ubiquitous information technology linking virtually everything that is linked to an information system through technologies such as wireless networking and RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) tags.
